StreetRacer Linux Project

The StreetRacer Linux project provides the operating environment for all StreetFire Sound Labs products.   The operating environment is designed to run on the StreetRacer CPU card mated with a product specific application board.

The RBX1600 is the first application board design to use the StreetRacer CPU Card and the StreetRacer Linux operating environment. See the RBX1600 Hardware Theory of Operation and Programming Guide for detailed information about the StreetRacer CPU Card and the RBX1600 Application Board.

The StreetRacer Linux operating environment is composed of the following components

  1. Boot-loader based on a port of U-BOOT-1.0.0
  2. Kernel derived from Montavista Pro 3.1 Intel PXA255 XScale 2.4.20 kernel.
  3. User space filesystem based on busybox-1.00 and glibc with a DEVFS device file system with custom initialization scripts and IBM WSDD5.0 Java Runtime Environment (JRE).
  4. Installable Device Drivers custom built for supporting RBX1600 specific peripherals
  5. Software Development Kit (SDK) containing both cross and native development tools with a NFS mountable development filesystem.
